Abstract
Bast fibrous plants like flax and hemp even in XXI century are very important lignocellulosic fibrous raw materials with continuously enlarging area their application. Flax, hemp, jute, kenaf, ramie are the most known and important natural fibres serving mankind up from ancient times to modern time today and tomorrow. These natural fibres have played an important role in human society since approximately 7 000 B.C.
